West Dunbartonshire has been awarded West Dunbartonshire Fairtrade Zone Status in recognition of the support and awareness the local schools, Churches, businesses, organisations, and local communities have given to Fairtrade products. In order to build on the Fairtrade Zone Status achieved so far, the West Dunbartonshire Networking Group is working with local businesses to encourage the uptake in trade of Fairtrade products to their customers, clients and staff. This can be in the form of Fairtrade certified tea, coffee and sugar etc. The group would also like to identify any large businesses that currently support Fairtrade products that would like to nominate themselves as a ‘flagship employer’ – this would be in terms of having the greatest volume of support in terms of use of Fairtrade products as well as influence in helping to promote Fairtrade products amongst the local community.
The Fair Trade Directory provides a list of retailers and caterers selling Fair Trade products in West Dunbartonshire.
