Voters in West Dunbartonshire who want a postal or proxy vote at next month’s European Union Referendum are being urged to apply now.

Residents who are already registered to vote and choose to vote by post must complete a postal vote application form and return it to the Valuation Joint Board by 5pm on Wednesday, 8 June.

Registered voters can also choose to allow someone they trust to vote on their behalf. To apply for a new proxy vote, residents need to complete an application form and send their application to the Electoral Registration Office by 5pm on Wednesday, 15 June 2016. In certain limited circumstances Emergency proxy votes can also be issued up to 5pm on Thursday 23 June 2016.

David Thomson, Electoral Registration Officer for Dunbartonshire and Argyll and Bute, said: “We would urge anyone who wants to vote by post or proxy to submit their application by the deadlines to ensure they can take part in next month’s election.  Application forms are available to download from our website or by contacting our offices.”
