West Dunbartonshire Council honoured its military community last weekend as part of a worldwide Armed Forces Day celebration.
The event - on June 16 – saw local cadets, Scouts and veterans’ organisations parade through the streets of Clydebank, led by pipes and drums.
When they reached the Town Hall, Provost William Hendrie and Rear Admiral Michael Gregory OBE, Lord Lieutenant for Dunbartonshire, performed a salute.
A short commemorative service, led by Reverend Gregor McIntyre of Faifley Parish Church, was held afterwards.
Provost Hendrie said: “This event was a great opportunity to recognise the bravery and dedication of the Armed Forces personnel in our area, both veterans and those currently serving. It was humbling to be among them.
“I was delighted to see such a great show of support from West Dunbartonshire residents who turned out to show how much they value the important work these men and women do on a daily basis.”
