A campaign has been launched to promote the Vale of Leven Hospital and increase awareness of the services open to residents across West Dunbartonshire.

Promoted under the banner, ‘Vale of Leven Hospital – Here for You’, the campaign will inform residents of the services they can access and highlight the Vale as an option for the treatment of minor injuries.

Launching in May, the awareness drive will include social media advertising, leaflets, posters and schoolbag drops, roadside billboard and street banners, bus and bus shelter advertising. The Council will also promote the campaign via display stands in public buildings.

Council Leader Jonathan McColl said: “There has been an increase in the number of people using the Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) at the Vale, which is really positive. As a Council we are keen to work with NHSGGC to do everything we can to build on that by highlighting the range of services available, including the MIU. We have a fantastic community facility right on our doorstep and want to ensure all of our residents, including those in Clydebank, know that they can benefit from it if they require medical attention."

Jane Grant, chief executive of NHSGGC said: “We are very proud of our staff and the services we provide at the Vale of Leven Hospital for the people of West Dunbartonshire.

“The Vale has a very special place in the heart of the people of West Dunbartonshire and we are happy to get behind the Council’s campaign to promote our services to local communities.

“This will complement our ongoing promotional activity which we run throughout the year to publicise our services.”
