Consulting with local communities
The Scottish Government has committed to increasing access to free ELC for children across the country.
By 2020, all three and four year olds, and all eligible two-year-olds, will be offered 1140 hours of free ELC which is the equivalent of up to 30 hours a week. Details of the plans are available at www.earlylearningandchildcare.scot. Further information on our plans for ELC in the area is available in the Council’s Early Learning & Childcare Strategy.
This will be a significant change for children, their parents and carers in West Dunbartonshire and we want to ensure our provision across our ELC establishments meets the needs of our communities.
To help us prepare, we have launched an online survey to identify what the likely uptake would be and how residents would like this to be delivered.
We are seeking the views of households with children aged 0-5 years, including parents or carers who do not currently use ELC.
The survey can also be accessed via links on the Council’s social media pages and on the council website. Survey responses are strictly confidential.
Paper copies of the survey are available by emailing Angela Devine at email@example.com.
