Many of our schools provide breakfast clubs to allow children and young people to have a healthy breakfast at school.
All of our high schools and many of our primary schools hold breakfast clubs within the school. This service is subsidised by the authority and the cost to the child is 83p or 36p, depending on home earnings. The reduced cost also applies for additional siblings.
Primary schools provide a choice of:
- toast and low fat spread
- cereal with milk
- fresh fruit
- fruit juice
Secondary Schools have healthy vending machines so pupils can buy either:
- morning roll with low fat spreading cheese and fruit juice
- cereal and semi-skimmed milk.
Please ask at your child's school if they provide this service.
