Adaptations

The Scheme of Assistance Regulations 2008 introduced a minimum 80% grant funding for mandatory adaptations.  The aim is to assist home owners or private tenants to stay in their homes.

Examples of adaptations include ramps, door widening and washing facilities as per assessment.

If you think you could be helped by the installation of an adaptation you should contact the Health & Social Care Partnership Occupational Therapy StaffThey will arrange for your needs to be assessed and will make recommendations if any adaptations are required. Contact details below.

Dumbarton/Vale of Leven Area: 01389 776499

Unfortunately, not all adaptations and standard amenities are eligible for mandatory financial assistance and in such instances advice and practical assistance will still be available from The Private Housing Advice section.

If on completion of an assessment it is shown that the applicant meets the criteria for financial assistance the Private Housing Advice Team will consider either a Mandatory or Discretionary Grant following receipt of an appropriate application form.
