Birth Registrations

All birth registrations in Scotland are now suspended until further notice.

If you have not been able to register the birth of your new baby due to birth registrations being suspended over the Coronavirus, you can still make a claim for Child Benefit.  Further information is available on the GOV.UK website.

A baby born in Scotland can be registered in any Registrars office in Scotland. Births cannot be registered in Scotland unless the baby was born in Scotland. A birth must be registered within 21 days of the baby being born.
