Alexander Street is an important route connecting the town centre and the River Leven. It is identified in the Town Centre Masterplan as being a vital part of the town’s future Walking and Cycling Network and Green Corridor as it links the town centre with the National Cycle Network. Regeneration is working in collaboration with the local community to deliver public realm enhancements to Alexander Street. The project, funded by the Place Based Investment Programme, is the first step towards realising the wider Green Heritage Corridors and Walking and Cycling Network projects.
The project will improve the environment along Alexander Street and encourage people to get outdoors and be active. Consultation and design are underway led on behalf of the Council by Page\Park architecture practice. Designs should be available for consultation in summer 2024 with a view to the project being completed in 2025.
