Minute of 1st September 2021 meeting held at 10am in
BB Battalion Hall, Smollett St, Alexandria
Community Councillors: Murdoch Cameron, MBE Chair, Alan Gardner, Treasurer,
Gillian Clark, Ian Gurr MBE, David Keown, Jan Shields, Andy McAuley, Alistair Boutell
Jim Biddulph, Sally Page.
Murdoch welcomed everyone to the meeting and thanked everyone for their work during the pandemic.
James McQueen who sadly passed away last year was remembered.
Minutes approved.
Gillian Clark elected Secretary.
Alan Gardner agreed to stay on as signatory as no volunteers to take on role of Treasurer.
Balance £2649.01 as of end of July, no o/s invoices.
Approval given for purchase of new laptop and printer for Secretary.
Road congestion at McDonald's
Councillor Page is organising a meeting with WDC Roads Dept., Police, McDonalds, BHCC. WDC have a working party set up. D.K will attend meeting and feedback.
Planning application refused now under appeal. LLTNP Local Review Board to hold a site visit and will write to WDC and Dunbritton for an update on housing stock and waiting lists. A.B will keep us updated. Secretary to contact Kilmaranock CC Secretary to see if they have had correspondence. BHCC objects to building on Greenfield land.
Agreed, applicants to email Secretary to request being co-opted and then present themselves at one of our meetings.
Carried over to October meeting and email with report of discussions to be re emailed out to all CC's
Meeting to be held with Fiona Robertson of Lomond Banks on 15/9/21 at 10am in BB Hall.
Secretary to write to WDC re bird proof bins, education programme.
Camper vans/ overnight parking
Concern was raised about the number of camper vans parking overnight in car parks in Balloch and how they are disposing of their waste. Secretary to contact Environmental Health to ascertain if this has been a problem
Correspondence
Secretary updated CC on correspondence received.
DK took part in a walkabout on river safety. Scottish Fire Service have secures funding of £20,000 to place emergency lifesaving equipment and information boards along the riverside. DK has volunteered to coordinate the checking of equipment on a daily basis and report any damage to Scottish Fire Service.
A defibrillator is being installed at Lomond Parish Church.
Brown St, Haldane needs weeded and tidied up, rubbish needs to be removed from Carrochan Burn at the rear of the Lennox Hall. Secretary to contact WDC Greenspace Manager, suggestion that Community Payback Team could be used.
