Pupils and teachers joined Councillors to celebrate Balloch Campus’ first birthday on Tuesday, 19 February.

To mark the occasion, children dressed down for the day and were treated to a birthday ‘icy’ during a special visit from an ice cream van.

Convener of Educational Services, Councillor Karen Conaghan, said: “It has been a very quick year and it’s great to see how well both the pupils and staff have settled in the campus.  I was pleased to see happy, confident children who are clearly enjoying their learning in this outstanding campus which has improved the educational opportunities for more than 500 children.”

Vice Convener, Councillor Ian Dickson, added: “Balloch Campus is a wonderful building and it is great to see how the children have settled and are enjoying their new school.   The campus was designed to help pupils transition between nursery and primary school all within the same building and also helping those with complex additional support needs to get the best start in life and reach their full potential.”
