New asymptomatic test facilities will go live in West Dunbartonshire from Thursday, February 25th , in a bid to break the chain of COVID-19 transmission.

People who have the virus may not show symptoms, or they can be so mild or unusual that they are not recognised as COVID-19.

This means that without knowing it they could be spreading the virus to their loved ones, work colleagues and the wider community.

To help stop the spread, and for your own peace of mind, West Dunbartonshire residents will be welcome to take a test at one of two asymptomatic test centres at:

Clydebank East Community Centre, Fleming Avenue, Clydebank, G81 1DP.

Leven Valley Enterprise Centre, Castlehill Road, Dumbarton, G82 5BN.

Each centre works on a drop-in basis, with no appointment necessary, and will be open Monday to Saturday from 11am to 7pm.

These test sites are for members of the public who are NOT experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.

If you feel you may have symptoms (such as loss of taste and smell, a high temperature or new and continuous cough) you should arrange a test by visiting www.nhsinform.scot. Alternatively, phone the National Testing Centre on 0300 303 2713 if you cannot access the online form.

We would encourage everyone living or working in the Clydebank and Dumbarton area to go along and have a rapid test. You will get a result in 30 minutes or less.

The centres will also advise of support available if you have a positive test so that you can isolate and not spread the infection.
