Work is set to begin on a small area of disused land which is being developed to help meet demand in housing.
The 535 square metre plot between 5 and 15 Gilmour Avenue in Hardgate, Clydebank will be developed into two semi-detached three-bedroom homes with off-street car parking.
The properties will be of modular construction, a fast and efficient development method which will also reduce the environmental impact.
The gap site was previously the location of timber garages on concrete bases however these have long since been demolished and the area has been subject to fly-tipping for several years.
A planning application was approved earlier this year.
Convener of Housing and Communities, Councillor Gurpreet Singh Johal, said: “This development shows a real commitment from West Dunbartonshire Council to utilise small pockets of land in order to meet demand for housing.
“Although this is a small development, it is vital in delivering for our communities while also progressing our environmental aims.”
Vice Convener of Housing and Communities, Councillor Hazel Sorrell, said: “I welcome the news that this application has been approved and work will soon begin to develop an otherwise unused pocket of land into much-needed homes.”
The homes will be built by contractor Connect Modular who are experts in modular construction, creating sustainable and high-quality housing solutions for communities in need.
