Well-behaved and articulate Kilbowie Primary pupils spoke of their pride for their school community as inspectors came to assess the school and early learning and childcare centre recently.
Inspectors found the highly respected headteacher leads her enthusiastic team well with the entire staff team focussed on ensuring improvement across the school and ELCC.
It was highlighted that the Lead Officer for Early Learning and Childcare is creating an enthusiastic and motivated team leading to positive outcomes for the pre-school children.
Schoolchildren were found to show respect, compassion and kindness to each other and are keen to learn. In the ELCC, the children play well together and are excited and engaged in their learning.
Inspectors from Education Scotland marked the school and ELCC Good across all areas with no requirement for any follow up actions.
To build on their success, staff at both facilities will continue to develop consistent, high-quality approaches to learning and teaching and ensure all children are appropriately challenged in their learning.
There will be a continued focus on raising attainment in literacy and numeracy for all children.
In the ELCC, practitioners will continue to develop and embed self-evaluation processes to further improve outcomes.
Convener of Educational Services, Councillor Clare Steel said: “It is a joy to hear that children feel supported in their school community and that staff are working hard to help them to achieve and further their learning.
“Congratulations to the staff, the children and parents at both Kilbowie Primary and ELCC for their achievements which have been highlighted by inspectors.”
Vice Convener of Educational Services, Councillor John Millar said: “The senior leadership team at Kilbowie Primary and ELCC are clearly focused on providing a healthy and nurturing learning environment for the children and I hope that the positive feedback in this inspection report will help further improve the experience pupils have here.”
