Do I need to present photo ID when voting at the polls at this election?

No, photo ID is only required when voting at the UK General Election or UK By-election. 

When will the By-Election be held?

Thursday, 28 November 2024 between the hours of 7am and 10 pm.

What is the purpose of this poll?

To elect 1 West Dunbartonshire Councillor to serve in the Kilpatrick Ward. 

Who will the candidates be for the By-Election?

The list of candidates will be published on the Council’s website after 4pm on Monday, 28 October.

How do I vote?

On the ballot paper, number the candidates in the order of your choice. Put the number 1 in the box next to the name of the candidate who is your first choice, 2 in the box next to your second choice, 3 in the box next to your third choice, and so on. You can vote for as many or as few candidates as you want.

Pencils or pens can be used to mark the ballot paper.

16 and 17 years of age

Anyone who is 16 years of age or over on the Thursday, 28 November 2024 is eligible to vote in this By-Election if registered to do so.

 7am until 10pm.
