We are delighted to welcome Emma Henderson to Alexandria. Using natural dye extracts we will create screen printing pastes to use on paper or fabric. In this workshop we will experiment with printing a range of dyes onto paper and using modifiers to 'shift' the colours.
Emma is a textile designer, illustrator, and educator hailing from Scotland. ‘Specifically, Argyll and Bute my home, where we get more than our fair share of rain.’
'Alongside my appreciation for the natural environment I also have a very strong sustainable practice. In 2023 I set up my sustainable print studio. A workshop dedicated to researching and developing ways to print with natural dyes hand made from food waste and plants. I love rich vibrant colours and its my mission to showcase the amazing colours that can be made from plants without harming the environment.'
