Celebrating 35 years of fun, friendship, laughter and lots of paint.
Faifley Art Group is a small, sociable group of 25 members established in 1988, and 35 years on, look forward to meeting in Skypoint Community Centre, Faifley on Wednesday mornings.
Members work at their own pace, using a wide variety of their own materials and selecting their subject matter. With no formal teaching they help each other. When funds allow they bring in professional artists for tuition and enjoy educational visits to Art Galleries.
Over the years they have held many exhibitions, at Botanic Gardens, Glasgow, Hillhead Library, Lomond Shores and Backdoor Gallery at Dalmuir Library. They also support ‘Little Arts of Love’ for the Mary’s Meals Charity organized by Mrs. Jo Torrance, one of their members.
They run a successful Schools Art Competition, sponsored by local business for WDC Primary 4 and 5 pupils. Starting in 2007 with just 2 schools, 7 schools now participate, submitting over 400 entries created by their imaginative and talented pupils.
Support from Age Scotland and the Clydebank Trust and additional grant providers has been extremely important, enabling the group to carry out their activities.
Free admission.
