SCRAN is the Scottish Cultural Resources Access Network.
This lottery-funded on-line resource has accumulated a vast amount of information about practically every aspect of Scottish culture.
SCRAN is a charitable online learning service. Its charitable purpose is "the advancement of education by enabling public access to Scottish cultural resources and related material".
SCRAN aims to provide educational access to digital materials representing our material culture and history. We host images, movies and sounds from museums, galleries, archives and the media and we are one of the largest educational online services in the UK supporting thousands of schools, libraries, colleges and universities.
It is funded by its own sales and Scottish Government grant and work in partnership with over 300 cultural institutions in Scotland and the rest of the UK.
If you are in one of West Dunbartonshire Libraries or one of ou schools you can access the SCRAN website for free where you can access over 480,000 images, movies and sounds from museums, galleries, archives and the media.
