Festive Collection

We are very sorry to advise that due to workforce resource challenges the previously advertised Christmas bin collection schedule has been changed.

Residents whose normal collections fall on public holidays over the Christmas period (Wednesday or Thursday) are now asked to present their bins as per the updated schedule:

In addition, brown bins will not be collected from Monday 23 December until Sunday 5 January inclusive. 
To ensure teams can prioritise increased general and recyclable waste, special uplifts will be unavailable throughout this period and will recommence for booking from Monday 20 January.

Recycling centres are open throughout the festive period from 8am until 5:30pm, with closures only on the public holidays each week.

Bulk waste/excess waste 

During the busy festive period you can take bulk or excess waste to either Dalmoak or Erskine Ferry Road Recycling Centre. They will be open from 8am until 5:30pm each day except from Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and January 2nd when both centres will be closed.

Real Christmas tree recycling

Real Christmas trees can be disposed of at either Dalmoak or Erskine Ferry Road Recycling Centre. They will not be picked up from the kerbside or from brown garden waste bins.

Recycling Christmas cards and wrapping paper

We would encourage residents to recycle Christmas cards and wrapping paper. Cards which are embellished with glitter or gems cannot be recycled and paper which is not able to be scrunched contains plastic and is not recyclable. All others should be placed in the blue recycling bin.

Recycling food waste

Food waste should be disposed of in brown bins as normal. No food waste collections will be undertaken on the week beginning December 23rd or 30th. Collections will resume on your normal collection date from January 6th.
