Rory Simonis
Clydebank High School pupil Rory Simonis is leaving school to study Dentistry at Glasgow University. Rory achieved seven National 5 Grade A awards in S4 followed by five Grade A awards at Higher in S5. In his final year he successfully studied for three advanced higher awards, including two which were delivered as part of the school’s consortium arrangements with St Peter the Apostle High School.
Rory is also much more than his academic qualifications. He was a committed participant in wider opportunities in the school such the Mark Scott Leadership for Life Award and becoming the school’s Deputy Head Captain. Rory is also a very talented musician, helping and supporting school concerts within the music department.
Congratulations to Rory on successfully gaining entry to Dentistry at Glasgow University which is a notoriously difficult course to get into.
Aaron Gallagher
Aaron Gallagher leaves Clydebank High School having secured a Modern Apprenticeship in Fabrication with BAE Systems.
Aaron is a very talented sportsman and was quickly identified as a candidate for the School of Basketball where he remained a member and represented the school for six years. Aaron always maintained a positive and respectful attitude and formed excellent working relationships with staff across the school. Aaron has being studying a number of National 5 and Higher awards including High Chemistry, Mathematics and English but his real passion was fulfilled in undertaking the Pre-Apprenticeship Fabrication and Welding Course in conjunction with BAE Systems as part of the schools College Partnership Programme. His commitment and dedication means his next step will be on their Modern Apprenticeship programme.
