Clydebank High School has been awarded a 'Very Good' grading in three of the four areas during a recent inspection.
Education Scotland visited the school in December and during their inspection rated the leadership of change; learning, teaching and assessment; and ensuring wellbeing, equality and inclusion all very good. In addition, raising attainment and achievement was rated as good.
The Headteacher was praised for demonstrating strong, strategic and thoughtful leadership. Inspectors also noted support for the Headteacher by senior and middle leaders, and for very successfully creating an empowering culture of staff leading change across the school.
Inspectors found staff who work very well together to create a nurturing and caring ethos built on the school values meaning young people are learning in a very supportive and safe environment.
Staff at the school were praised for successfully increasing the range of courses and programmes on offer in and outwith the school which is helping them to meet the learning needs of more young people in the community.
Inspectors noted the positive approaches to improving literacy and numeracy and equity across the school which is supporting improved attainment in S1 to S3 and S4 to S6.
Young people’s wellbeing and learning needs are met very effectively by highly proactive staff who work very well with a range of partners and external agencies to ensure young people thrive in an inclusive environment, according to inspectors.
