From 28/11/18 Universal Credit full service came into effect in West Dunbartonshire. This means that most people who require assistance with paying your rent after this date and are not already receiving Housing Benefit for a property within West Dunbartonshire you will need to make an application for Universal Credit.

If you are residing in supported accommodation then you should claim Housing Benefit.

If you require assistance with your Council Tax payments then please complete this online claim form even if you are required to claim Universal Credit.

Further information on Universal Credit and advice on the support available to you is available on the Universal Credit page.

You can claim for a Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction whether you are a council tenant or renting from a private landlord.

If you claim Income Support/Jobseekers Allowance (Income Based) you can claim Housing Benefit at the same time by filling in the form included inside the claim pack. Your local Department for Work & Pensions Office will then forward the claim form to us.

You can complete the Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction application form below.
