The Community Wellbeing Fund has been established to support local community groups and charities with the hire of Council venues and facilities to stage one-off activities such as shows, festivals and events in West Dunbartonshire for the benefit of communities in the area.
Any organisation or charity appropriately constituted or set up and resident in West Dunbartonshire. Organisations are limited to receiving one grant per financial year.
A fund of £20,000 has been created for 2023/24 and groups can apply for a one-off grant of up to £2000 per annum.
Up to £2000 is available to help with hire costs incurred directly as a consequence of hiring a Council venue or facility. A booking form confirming date of event and total hire cost must be submitted with the application. The grant can be used to offset costs of hire of the venue/facility only and any other ancillary costs will not be considered.
Organisations must demonstrate they meet the criteria and applications are considered on a first come served basis until the fund is exhausted for the current financial year.
Applications must be submitted a minimum of two weeks in advance of any event taking place and retrospective applications will not be considered.
The Council reserves the right to request evidence of how the funding had been used and the outcomes achieved. In the event that the funds were not used in a manner consistent with the funding award the Council may take steps to recover it in part or in its entirety.

Community Wellbeing Fund Application
The fund is open annually for applications from 16 June 2023 until 31 March 2024 (or earlier if the fund is fully exhausted). Grants meeting the criteria but submitted after the fund has been exhausted will be considered in the following financial year.
