We have a strict policy on the administration of medication.

We have worked with colleagues in Health to write a policy on the administration of medicines.

Schools have no legal duty to administer medicine and so this is only ever carried out on a voluntary basis. If the Head Teacher of your child's school agrees to administer medicine to your child they will follow this policy to make sure that it is done safely.

Your role

As a parent you must make sure the Head Teacher has all the relevant information relating to your child's health needs.

You must also provide clear instructions to the school on how medicine should be given to your child. Instructions should include what dose of medicine required to be given by the school.

Please contact your child's school for more information.
