If your child is:
Your child will usually transfer from primary school to secondary school between the ages of 11 and 12. Your child's primary school will be associated with a secondary school. Most children attend the secondary school associated with their primary school.
A transition pack will be distributed to all P7 pupils during early December.
If your child is attending their primary school due to a placing request and you wish them to attend the associated secondary school you must complete a placing request application. Your child does not automatically transfer if you do not live within the catchment area of the secondary school.
You can view the schools in your catchment area using the catchment area postcode search.
If you are moving into a secondary school's catchment area during term time, you can register your child at any time. Further information is available on the apply for a school place during the school year page.
