Under Section 50 of the Licensing (Scotland) Act a Building Standards Certificate is required to support an application for a license to permit the sale or use of alcohol. This certificate will indicate the status of any works carried out to a property under a Building Warrant and whether completion of these works either temporary or full has been granted. A raised structure is a platform, stand, staging or other similar structure and Building Standards will inspect to determine that the structure is safe, secure and has sufficient provision for means of escape during a fire or other emergency.
