Care of Gardens

In partnership with Greenlight Environmental Ltd, West Dunbartonshire Council are able to offer free garden maintenance to residents that are in receipt of a disability benefit such as Personal Independence payment, Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance or a care service from HSCP, regardless of your age.

If you are in receipt of a state pension but do not meet the criteria in point 1 and would still like to take advantage of this service  a fee of £70 per annum will be payable to West Dunbartonshire Council.

You will not be accepted for the scheme if there is a relative in the house or living nearby who could be expected to tend to the  garden.

Holiday homes will not be considered.

The scheme is available to tenants and owner/occupiers.

Evidence of eligibility must be submitted with an application or it will not be considered for the service. If completing online and posting evidence please include the online form reference which is detailed on the information page following submission.

The Care of Gardens Scheme covers

  • 7 grass cuts per annum
  • 2 hedge cuts per annum
  • Bedding maintenance and weeding is NOT included in the service
